At P.S. 273Q, we believe in every child’s boundless potential to learn, lead, and thrive.
Our school community is rooted in the belief that every voice matters and every mind can grow through shared knowledge, love, and intentional learning.
We are committed to equitable education, ensuring that every child receives the support they need to succeed in school and beyond.
Through inclusive, student-centered environments, we nurture the whole child—developing independent learners and critical thinkers who embrace diversity and lead with empathy, courage, and curiosity.
At P.S. 273Q, excellence is cultivated through collaboration, reflection, and a deep commitment to meaningful, culturally responsive instruction that inspires all learners.
At our small, close-knit school—with just two classes per grade—we cultivate the genius in every child through personalized support, strong relationships, and a deep commitment from every adult in the building.
To support students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), we also offer small 12:1:1 special education classes and Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) settings with two teachers to meet individual student needs.
Our school prides itself on offering joyful, hands-on learning experiences—like raising butterflies, hatching ducklings, and participating in enriching clubs such as Chess and Debate—as well as exciting opportunities like a week of on-site learning at the American Museum of Natural History. We celebrate cultural heritage through vibrant events including a Hispanic Heritage Hero Project, the Diwali Celebration, a Black History Month Show, and the Holi Festival of Colors, among many others.
We also foster strong community connections with Family Paint Nights, STEAM Night, and parent workshops. Through partnerships with organizations like Studio in a School, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, and the NYPD Jazz Band, the arts and community are brought directly into our classrooms. We also proudly offer Adult English Classes for parents and caregivers through our partnership with District 79 Adult Education, because we believe that “the more you know, the more you grow” applies to the entire school community—and that serving the whole child means supporting the whole family.
