Dear P.S. 273Q Community,
“Fly like a butterfly, sting like a bee, that’s why they call us, TEAM 273!”
P.S. 273Q is a place where children are seen, heard, and celebrated for who they are. Our little school buzzes with joyful learning, cultural pride, and a deep belief in the infinite potential of every child. Together, our teachers, staff, families, and students have cultivated a culture rooted in care, inclusion, and excellence. Whether it’s through rigorous instruction, creative expression, or hands-on learning experiences, we are preparing our scholars to lead, to thrive, and to change the world.
As a proud New York City native and graduate of its public schools, I know the transformative power of public education firsthand. I also know that when educators and families come together with love, purpose, and high expectations, there is nothing our children can’t achieve. My own journey—from struggling reader to gifted student, and later to dual language elementary school teacher, assistant principal, and now principal—was shaped by dedicated educators and family members who believed that nurturing, consistent teaching can change a life. That same belief guides my leadership every day.
At P.S. 273Q, we live by the motto: “The more you know, the more you grow. Together.” This reflects our unwavering belief that learning is a lifelong journey: one that unfolds every day, at every age, and thrives within community. When knowledge is shared, it becomes a powerful force that empowers others and fosters both individual and collective advancement. At our core, we are all lifelong learners—children and adults alike—growing stronger, wiser, and more connected every day.
To our families, thank you for trusting us with your brilliant young scholars. It is truly a privilege to partner with you in nurturing their academic, social, and emotional growth this year and beyond. Please know that your ideas, questions, and suggestions for our school are always welcomed. I hope you will always feel comfortable to share your voice as we continue to build the school our children deserve—Together.
I look forward to welcoming you all into our school soon and hope to see you at our next Pastries with the Principal, Open House, School Tour, and/or Parent Workshop.
Here’s to a joyful, productive, and purpose-filled school year ahead for all of us!
With love and gratitude,
Lollinez Pérez
